In an effort to reduce federal government expenses and to reduce the taxpayer burden by about $15 billion, the Federal government is examining ways to get rid of nearly 12,000 excess structures that it no longer needs.

These properties range from sheds to underutilized office buildings and empty warehouses.

The government has released a data base, which indicates where these properties are located along with very basic information about the properties.
