GORC Going to the Playoffs & My Trip over the Bridge

We had a great weekend here in the Gambrills/Crofton area. As you may know, my son plays for GORC football on the 100 pound team and Dave coaches. We knew we had a good chance to beat the Severn I team on Saturday, so I traveled over the Bay Bridge to watch and video tape the game between the Pasadena Chargers play the Chesapeake Bay Pirahhanas. Chesapeake Bay won 19-0. The coaches normally "scout" the team they will play the following week but this week the games were too close together.

The area over the bay in Stevensville is really nice. As soon as you get over the Bay Bridge to the Eastern waterfront houseShore, you get a sense that there is a slower way of life on that side of the bridge. More relaxed, less traffic. There are a lot of nice neighborhoods over there as well and the prices are better than on the "Western Shore". The waterfront is still pricey though, but what VIEWS! There is a darling little airport that I passed, the "Bay Bridge Airport" where all the small planes fly in and out of.

When you go farther out past Stevensville you'll come to some other good sized towns where the homes are even better deals. Beautiful new construction, large homes for less than $400K. Many of the homes are on much larger lots as well as the land is not at such a premium as it is in Anne Arundel County.

There are so many opportunities that you can take advantage of in this area if you live here. Now that our team won in the playoffs, they are going to the Anne Arundel County Championships and playing at the NAVAL ACADEMY!!! Isn't that exciting? I think we'll beat Chespeake Bay and if so, the boys will go to the State championship and the two top teams will play at RAVENS Stadium!
