Lenn on her "new" business strategy:
So, it worked?
Brian, I just “love it when a plan comes together”
Were there fears or trepidations or were you confident in your strategy?
There was never any doubt. I never had any fear or trepidations because I was NOT “trying” anything.
Lenn on business through social networking websites:
No. I would not refer a home buyer to any lender simply because of a friendship or relationship developed on a blog.
...I just settled on Wednesday with a buyer who had been pre-qualified with an Internet lender. He had been taking advice from an online mortgage transparency “guru“. It was a disaster.
Lenn on whether or not she is a "go it alone kind of gal" :
Goodness ! Where did you get the idea that I am going it alone? No such thing!

This one was so much fun! My Broker Bryant interview and X Broker Interview were somewhat easy. I met Jeff Corbett before and spoke to Bryant on the phone a lot before the interview . This was a challenge. The first time I spoke to Lenn was after we finished the hard work of Q & A.
Lenn is sweet, professional, smart, and best of all...
SHE'S OPINIONATED ! Just like America's Most Opinionated Mortgage Broker likes 'em!

WOW! What an incredible story Lenn! Thanks for doing this Brian. I guess I had no idea about the lawsuit. Was this one of the first? Was it a precedent? Her model is just like the one I strive to have. I will have to look into it more like she does it through different brokers. I have people lined up that say "I have no business" but when I try to give them business they are "busy"
Lenn, you are incredible!
Lenn,
You go Girl!! Thanks for inviting me to this party
Dick Beals
Lenn is the most amazing woman.. she has forgotten more about real estate and using the internet for real estate marketing then most people will ever discover.. I remember a post ...not too long ago... where a person who had recently discovered the internet made a comment to Lenn.. something to the effect that the internet was here to stay and she better get used to it... I laughed like crazy.. this guy had no idea who he was preaching to... or how much she knew that he would never know... She is an inspiration to all of us..
Thanks Brian... this was a great article on a GREAT REALTOR® If we all conducted our business the way Lenn does.. there would never be a question about whether we are worth what we are paid.
P..S I would never tangle with her over a map. LOL..
Great interview, Brian. This is a great series. I hop you know, however, that Steve Crossland is never going to click on that CHECK OUT THE FULL INTERVIEW HERE link.
Great interview.
Now I have two hero's Lenn and Brian.
The lawsuit must have been draining for her. I wonder why the other broker felt he had any claim on it?
Lenns a great blogger and I have learned alot from her and her experiences.
Great interview Brian
Eddy
What a great interview. I am so glad you chose Lenn, Brian. I always like learning more about her.
Yeah Lenn! I will head over to read the interview...
I've never met Lenn but feel I "know" her based on 6 years of reading and learning through her participation in the RealTalk and e-ProTalk forums.
Luv ya Lenn
Great interview. Lenn has a great business model. I found it quite amazing that her former broker tried to claim her domain name and business. I wonder if that lawsuit set a precedent?
Excellent Brian, Lenn Harley in my opinion is an outstanding person and REALTOR(R) and I've never even met her! Some folks you just know. Another great interview Brian. Keep it up, you are very good at it.
Brian...
Lenn already knows this, but maybe you don't. A long time ago I decided I want to grow up to be just like Lenn. Nothing phases her and nothing but nothing will deter her from reaching any goal she sets for herself. She is my kind of woman.
Man. She even keeps a loaded rifle next her front door. I love that and can easily see that if Lenn and I ever meet we would get along extremely well. I relate to her in a way I don't relate to a lot of other women. Lenn is woman hear her ROAR!
TLW...ROAR!
Brian, Thanks for the great interview with Lenn.
.."buying a home can be fun." It would be an honor to be the listing agent with this fellow Marylander who is a true professional. Congratulations Lenn and thanks for sharing with us.
Lenn - Way to go with fighting the obviously unfair lawsuit. I admire your fortitude. The folks who initiated the lawsuit, IMHO, permanently and publicly sacrificed their personal integrity in the pursuit of money. Shame on them!
Thank you for this interview-I love learning the 'behind the scenes' stories about the folks that I've come to admire so much. That lawsuit has me shaking my head, though. That broker must have lost his entire operating income when Lenn left...
Great interview, Brian and Lenn. I won't duplicate my comments and questions that I left on Bloodhound. When you succeeded in the lawsuit, Lenn, were you able to recoup your costs? I never cease to be amazed at the gall and tactics of some litigators. There are days, many of them, when I wish we had the legal system and philosophies of Finland!
Lenn is someone to look up to. She is the epitome of professionalism and knowledge..
Thanks to all who comments on this wonderful article by Brian Brady. I appreciate the kind thoughts.
Sharon: No, I didn't recap the legal fees it cost me because of Virginia law and there was no counter suit. Time and money prevented that. But, I kept HOmefinders.com and that was the important thing. The broker was suing for about $2.5 Million so I had to defend. No matter. It was worth it.
To my wonderful friends and especially to Brian. Thanks for this "moment in the sun".
Lenn
Great comments! Lenn is a superstar and her "moment" will last for many years. Kepp your eyes peeled everybody. One of the commenters above will be next!
Lenn is awesome! IF you ever are in need of a dose of common sense or have to tune your moral compass, tune into Lenn.
She has it all.
kk
Great person to interview and Lenn is a fabulous addition to the real estate community.
Brian...great job...
Well shucks "Danny" anonomous, if one doesn't like my attitude about selling my referrals, one doesn't have to take them.
Sure, I expect a lot from agents who ACCEPT my referrals, I WORK VERY HARD TO GET THEM IN. I expect agents WHO ACCEPT MY REFERRALS to work just as hard selling them.
Now, "Danny" anomomous, am I "too harsh", or am I direct and can be trust to stand behind my thoughts and ideas???
make sure you dont have a negative thing to say in response to her
Ahem.
"Please Lenn, may I have some more?"
Would that I could say that if I had any lending expertise in the DC area.
Come on, Danny. We get the idea; you don't care for Lenn all that much. That's okay. She's got a big enough fan club as it is.
