Showing houses with pets

I am curious what your reaction is to pets when showing a house. As an animal lover, I find it hard to ignore any animal. I think that people who love all animals are generally down to earth folks and trustworthy - so I don't mind briefly lovin' up animals in front of clients. The other day, I showed a house with a St. Bernard in it - of course, the agent warned me and I said "Great, I love dogs..the bigger, the better." Her name was Gretchen. When we met, she was rolling in the gardens. . She was gi-normous and very sweet and affectionate. While touring the house, I have to admit, I was a little embarrassed by the big mulchy slober marks all over my light yellow cotton top - courtesy of Gretchen!
