Summer Community Movie Nights - From Decades Past!

For nearly 20 years, Columbia has been hosting free movies out at the Lakefront in the evenings. Having been a Columbia resident for almost that long, I've just this summer begun taking advantage of these events -- and I have to tell you, it's fun!! Bring your folding chairs, blankets, maybe popcorn from home -- or come earlier and bring a picnic dinner with you, or eat in one of the local restaurants.

I have to admit that we're usually bringing up the rear, showing up in the dark just as the movie's starting... Even though midday was in the 90's and sweltering, by dark, with a breeze from the lake, it will be cool and summery and you (and your kids if you bring some) will remember that it is indeed a lovely summer evening and it's great to be enjoying it together. Still to come this year: National Treasure: Book of Secrets (08/22) and all three Pirates of the Caribbean (08/29-31). See you there!
