Alice's Pretty Party

Pretty TreeSome people just have the knack to create a magical party; Alice is one of those people.

Crystal Tree Crystal StockingThe house was perfect, warm, and inviting, and everywhere you looked were tasteful Christmas decorations. The flowers were perfect, long stem white roses, poinsettias and five very different Christmas trees.

One tree is all Waterford glass. You could spend hours looking at each of the sparkling ornaments, like the stocking that glitters like crystal...just so special.

BeliniI did not want to spend too much time with the camera because then I would have missed the good friends and conversation. Did I say mention this was perfection? The "belinis," luscious drinks (cranberry, pomegranate, Champaign) and topped with a sprig of mint and a cranberry were pretty and delish! The bounty of superb hors d'oevres: brie and mushroom, bountiful cheeses, gargantuan shrimp, and crab cakes were more than enough to satisfy. But then there was a beautiful dinner of tenderloin, gourmet potatoes creations, yummy salmon with an olive tampenade, crisp green beans, and a beautiful salad. All of this was elegantly served and catered in Alice's magnificent new kitchen with flowing "white diamond" granite countertops. Deserts were plentiful, and Marie's always-popular cream desert was no disappointment.Tree reflected in Granite

Jeannie and Alice The guys came up from the football game (Ravens won) to make sure they did not miss dessert. A beautiful party, lots of beautiful people, lots of good conversation. Some people just have the knack to create magic. Alice had a pretty party!

Hi Margaret...Lots of glitter for the eyes and delicious food for the tummy.  Sounds like the perfect party.

Kate

Hi Margaret.  And that was a HUGE win for the Ravens too!  Exciting stuff for us loyal fans, even if we're 5,000 miles away.

sounds like my kind of house!  I love those houses, parties and people!

Hi Margaret,

Wow, what beautiful photos and 5 trees, I was just happy to get one up! The Waterford tree must have been a real beauty, actually they all look that way.

My best to you for the holidays!

It looks magical...I love seeing all the lights at Christmastime...now I'm hungry for hor d'ourves! Merry Christmas!

Margaret - now THAT is a holiday party. I am always envious of folks who can pull of such a wonderful event and make is seem so easy. Wonderful photos of a memorable evening.

Jeff

Margaret,

It looks and sounds like a GREAT time was had by all that attended.  I really envy people that have the ability to throw a party like you have described.

Merry Christmas ma'am.

Margaret - It's 9am I had breadfast an hour ago and you still made me hungry!! I love the waterford tree! I have 2 of their ornaments now. I think starting a collection for the tree is a delightful idea!!!

PS, I couldn't find Steve on AR. The only Steve Warren I found had not blogged yet. Help?

Margaret - another important part of a great party is the right mix of people. Alice knows what she's doing - after all, she invited You! You did mention not wanting your photos to eclipse the good friends and conversation, so I know Alice did a good job on that, too.

Sharon, You are right, the people make the gathering.

Alice has the ability to not only have a beautiful party, but make everyone feel like a special guest.... making time to visit with everyone.

Sharon, Thanks for stopping by. I want to know what you decided about your office. Are you staying?

Connie, Take a photo and post it here, please!

That tree with the glass is something else.  Absolutely magical.  Thank you so much for posting this.  I'm a little past the holidays to be replying, but I had missed this thread and had to comment.
