Woodmoor and Indian Spring Village are the largest of the Legal Subdivisions in the Neighborhood known as Woodmoor. Woodmoor's first homes were built in 1938. At that time Indian Spring Country Club (now the Silver Spring YMCA) was a draw for the Community, Also St Bernadette's Church and opening of the school drew families to the Community.

The cool, art deco style, circa 1940's Woodmoor Shopping Center at the edge of this beautiful neighborhood was recently restored. The medium sized, 3 story Shopping Center still has quaint, locally owned well known and long lasting mom and pop shops like the Woodmoor Pastry Shop, Santucci's Italian Deli, The Watch Pocket and the wonderful Hoover Fisher's Florist to name just a few.
