Most of your shoe box 42x24 ranches have a dining area but the formal dining room, nope.

The active family on the run, hitting drive thrus, wolfing down pizzas in front of the tube or video game screen just does not use a formal dining room. Maybe Easter, Thanksgiving and Christimas it would be nice to have one. Or for birthday celebrations but that's it for some.

    

Maybe the formal dining room is too far from the microwave...the new way to cook food in the bag when you are over extended, just don't have the time.

Chicken nuggets, mac & cheese, fries and spam...yikes! Maybe the desire or energy to whip up a roast, toss a salad, saute green peppers and onions with the xm cranking out some tuneage in the background as you unwind with some grape juice is not so common, possible.

Slow dining...not eating like a marathon racer anxious to keep pace, running full bore, all out to get to the finish line as soon as the starting gun fires. Is that how you "put the feed bag on"?
