This week the mortgage interest rate went down from 6.5% to 6% becuase of the goverment taking over Fredie Mac and Fannie Mae. According to Rob Drum at Homestead Mortgage (www.homesteadme.com). the interest rates have dropped but it may only be a very temporary thing. You can lock in this week and have this rate be good for 30 days, which may be the lowest rate we will see for a long time.
With the apr going down a half point, on a $200,000, 30 year fixed loan, you could realize savings of over $700 a year. As always, I'm happy to help you with your buying needs and am never to busy for your referrals! Cheers, Hannah McChesney, hmcchesney@masiello.com 207-699-7566
