If you have ever spent time around AuGres or East Tawas Michigan, then you've heard of the Charity Islands. As a kid, my grandfather used to tell me stories about how the indians used the island for collecting flint to make tools and for fishing the shallow water between the 2 islands.
So when I heard about Charity Island Excursions I signed up for their monthly newsletter. The March issue talks about "Shirley Ann" departing from East Tawas State Dock this summer, dinner cruises, wildflowers of the islands, bird watching, homemade corn chowder and french bread at the lighthouse.
