Fall Fashion Show and Luncheon to Benefit the Longacre House on Oct. 2
The 39th Annual Fall Fashion Show to Benefit the Longacre House will be held October 2 at the Glen Oaks Country Club in Farmington Hills. Doors open to the Fashion Boutique at 10:30 a.m. with the luncheon and Fashion Show beginning at noon. Fashions will be provided by Coldwater Creek at Laurel Park.
The Fashion Show is sponsored by Friends of the Parks, a non-profit community service organization that promotes and enhances the City of Farmington Hills parks system. Proceeds from the annual Fashion Show will go toward restoration and upkeep of the historic Longacre House, which was acquired by the City of Farmington Hills in 2006.
The original Longacre House was built in 1869, but many rooms were later added to make it the beautiful 20-room Georgian mansion that it is today. The City of Farmington Hills has made extensive improvements over the past two years, including landscaping and interior renovations.
The Longacre House provides a way to step back in time to an era of sophisticated charm and elegance. Not surprisingly, it has become a popular venue for weddings, showers, and special events. The Longacre House also hosts popular programs such as Victorian teas, cooking shows, and music lessons.
Tickets to the 39th Annual Fall Fashion Show to Benefit the Longacre House are $35. Charge tickets by calling 248-477-8404 or mail your check made out to "Friends of the Parks" to The Longacre House, 24705 Farmington Road, Farmington Hills, MI 48336.
