Homeowner in Grand Rapids

I want to share a funny experience with you that I had this summer; maybe you can relate. Being the average homeowner in Grand Rapids that I am, from time to time my wife and I come up with little "projects" for me to work on. I have heard it referred to as the "Honey-Do" list. Well, one of the projects this summer was to replace 6 of the 10 windows we have in our Grand Rapids home that are all the same size - 34"X54", not too big, but none too small either.

Believe it or not, I completed the first step of the project. I had installed the new windows and was ready to start the touch-up work of painting the trim. Now, since my wife doesn't let me near a paintbrush after seeing the damage I can cause with my good intentions, I relied on two of my buddies (who are professional painters) to come and help me finish the project. The typical guy offer - "Come help me paint and I will get us a stuffed pepperoni pizza from Pizza Hut" was good enough for them. I also wanted to be sure to have a beverage that they enjoy on hand, so I politely asked them what they would like to drink. The beverage of choice was Mountain Dew and, wanting to impress them, I not only got one 2-liter, but splurged and bought two 2-liters of the green beverage-loaded-with-caffeine.

After having a few glasses while we were working, then having another couple with the pizza, and finishing the evening off with one last tall glass with ice in it, I was content. As the time passed, like an average homeowner I went to bed. The only problem was I couldn't sleep. I didn't realize the drastic effects that so much caffeine that late in the afternoon and into the evening could have on an average homeowner like me.

Alas, I could not get to sleep until well past 3am. I decided not to just lay there tossing and turning as Mountain Dew sloshed around burning the caffeine up. I got up in the wee hours in the morning and decided I just had one of my first truly "average homeowner" experiences.

So now, here I am telling you about one of my experiences of home ownership. If you have any friends or family members that could be helped by the service I offer please give me a call with there name and phone number. I will be happy to follow up with them. We can also laugh over any average homeowner experiences that you would like to share with me.
