Benazir Bhutto … Martyr for freedom

Benazir Bhutto … Martyr for freedom

As you may or may not know another charismatic leader was assassinated in Pakistan. She was only 54 years old. She was shot twice and the gunman blew himself up and subsequently 20 people were killed. You may ask why am I writing about this. She’s not American, she’s not a Republican or Democrat. She’s a person who loved her people so much she went back to her native country (India) to help her people. She was/is a very popular in India for the common man.

A woman for the people. Being in exile for years and watching her country from the outside she felt it was time to come out of exile and return home. Knowing the danger she faced she made the decision to return. Not entirely welcomed when she returned she faced adversity head on. We are faced with adversity everyday. If we were in this same situation what would we have done. The world again has lost someone. May she rest in peace…

What a shame and a waste of an incredible woman.

I wonder who was behind it?

They say Al Quada.. Sad state of affairs. But this is the world we live in..

Robert,

The world is changing quickly. I agree that she was a great woman who just wanted what was best for her country and people.

Changing for the worse. More people will die. Here and abroad.

The Lord needed her .......

I am sure He has things for her to do....

hehehehehe.....

May the ones martyred for the
faith be blessed by the Lord....

\O/

Robert, It is going to be a mess over there we need to keep the situation in our prayers

Robert,

I wasn't up on my political leaders of Pakistan but from what I've heard, she was a good person.  It is sad when we lose any person.... especially a good person that had the interests of peace in mind.

Alexander. The Lord does know best..

Hugh. Yes we should. Peopl are still fighting in that region and it will continue for years to come or when Jesus returns.

Martin. She was a person for the people. She was their voice. Someone else will come along and follow in her footsteps.

She was an amazing woman.  This is a difficult time to be a leader in countries targeted by terrorists.  These brave souls put their lives on the line.  With her Harvard education and intelligence, she could have lived a very comfortable life, but instead chose to act in accordance with her values and beliefs.  Definitely someone we should all look up to and admire.

Yes Gail she was amazing. Very statuesque also. They lost a great leader.

Thanks for the heartfelt post... include me in the group of people who a. admired her courage for fighting for democracy and b. feel saddened that those of principle may be discouraged to take up the cause. She will be missed.
