The guildelines for Green Built are based on seven primary "guiding principles:" (1) Lot design, preparation and developmnet; (2) Resource efficiency; (3) Energy efficiency; (4) Water efficiency; (5) Indoor enviroment quality; (6) Operation, maintenance and homeowner education; and (7) Global imapct. visit http://www.nahb.org/ for more detialed information. http://www.greenbuiltmichigan.org/ has more info. I am on a Grand Rapids Association of Realtors committee and we are trying to get more information so we can develop criteria for our Grand Rapids MLS as to how we can add a classification to the listing of a Grand Rapids Home for sale so that consumers can identify if the home is Green Built Certified or not. We are still debating the issue.
Would you like to find a home to own in the Grand Rapids area? You can find your new home at Grand Rapids Homes and then search all of the Grand Rapids Real Estate Market!!! Look through all Grand Rapids Listings for your new home.

Ethan:
Good post. Building green is a big deal these days. Keep up the good work. Thanks for posting on my blog
I can't wait to see the growth in this sector of building!!
Hi Ethan - Is Tammy Stone part of your committee? She and Mike Holcomb made a presentation to the board a few weeks back with some suggestions that were put together by the West Michigan USGBC. Could you post this in ECO AllStars? Getting these certifications on the MLS is very important and our USGBC chapter is very willing to lend a hand.
Hey Ethan... what committee at the board wants more info.? Would love to get in front of them and get them to add these much needed categories
Tammy, the tech committee, basically we make a recommendation to the board of a classification or not. contact walter perschbacher he is the chair of our committee
Green is the future of Michigan building. So many builders are getting on board. Hooray!!!
Hey Ethan~
Already contacted Walter back in February. He was supposedly going to bring it in front of that committee at the February meeting and said that the committee tabled it for a later date. Is that information correct?
hey, yeah, we have so much to work through with the conversion that it is taking a back burner...
