The Farmer's Market in Grand Rapids officially starts in May. The Grand Rapids location on Fulton
and Fuller Street corner is open on Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday, every week until
October. Most local produce really starts to come to market in June, so the offerings are a little
sparse right now.

When we visited yesterday, there was fresh Michigan asparagus, fresh rhubarb,
red potatoes, and green house grown tomatoes from local farmers. There was lots of plants
and flowering plants for sale also. We saw lettuce, some really healthy tomato plants, and
lots of flowering baskets and containers to spruce up your home and landscape. In about
2-3 weeks, we should start to see local radishes, lettuce, and strawberries for sale. We
took a few pictures so you can see what it looks like now. I will try to get back later in June,
so you can see the true flavor of what is offered.

Could you send me some of that rhubarb? That's a flavor of spring that I miss.
Georgina: I love Rhubarb pie and just cooked with a little sugar. Sure sign that spring is here.
Terry, I love these farmer's markets. Thanks for the reminder to check out our local markets. I did a post on our Famous Lexington Market here in Baltimore.
Margaret: We do like fresh produce it is so much better tasting that the store bought stuff. Enjoy.
Hi Terry, It looks beautiful and oh! it makes me homesick! My family has been picking and eating our asparagus. Thanks for the post and the beautiful pictures!
Great photos, Terry! It all looks so healthy! There is nothing quite like fresh local produce!
Mary: we have had a bit of asparagus and some things are coming up in the garden a sure sign of spring.
HI Pat: It's not me my wife is the healthy one I just get to come along for the ride. I guess I'm lucky.
I just love field fresh veggies. I get my tomatoes from a road side stand. Is that rhubarb on the table?
Hi Chris: Yes that is Rhubarb sure thing that spring is in full bloom. We do enjoy going to the local markets instead of buying things that have been shipped across the nation.
