On the Labor Day weekend my wife and took a day to drive up the western shores of the state. We stopped in several towns along the way, and one of the smaller communities just south of Muskegon called Norton Shores was holding a festival. We decided to go there and see what was happe
ning.
For the most part there was not a lot of vendors and booths as one is accustomed to seeing at many outdoor festivals, but there were the traditional food vendors and even some entertainment for kids. One of the features was a petting zoo which contained goats, sheep and llamas.
Another was a rink set up where one could get a camel ride. I thought this was kind of unique, so I snapped some photos. It is not every day that you get to ride a camel. I did not, however, have any success in getting my wife to ride the camel...
