Wow! The Michigan Energy Fair put on by Great Lakes Renewable Energy Fair was a tremendous success!!! The numbers are not in yet but 5000+ attendence was expected! It was a brilliant exchange not only from exhibitors but from visitors to the fair as well. I learned so much just talking to visitors who shared with me their knowledge.
The banner was set and I found it very fitting to get a picture -- THEN I found it fitting to widen the lens and show you the complete view....
In my post Wind Power - Battle Ensues in Michigan I discuss that part of the battle is about a spoiled view --
I'm looking for responses here - which do you think is the more beautiful view? The photo above or the photo to the right?
I know my choice! Notice -- no wires, no high tension vibes being given off...This wind generator does actually blend into the landscaping. I shot this photo very close to the structure. I personally would rather see the view to the right rather than the view above.
I do understand that the windmills placed in windfarms are much larger (this particular structure has a 35 foot requirement due to the fire department's ladder height).
JMHO - it's pretty cool looking and actually blends right into the landscape. There will be a future blog dedicated to the wind generator and Bauer Power. Mark Bauer was the mastermind behind this puppy.
The coolest thing about it is that the electric meter will actually spin backwards when it is generating electricity!!!
Homeowner Steve is glad to be selling BACK to the power company!
Talk about living a dream for Adam Bearup and TEAM Hybrid!!! They helped make the 2007 Michigan Energy Fair a great success. Hybrid Row was all about education. Participants were not there to sell -- participants were there to educate and connect with people. What a great idea, the brain child of Adam Bearup and Eric Hughes who have pulled the Herkelrath project together! It was successful and comments about Hybrid Row were very positive.
The GLREA Team did a fantastic job assembling this event! I will be featuring ongoing information and highlights from the 2007 Michigan Energy Fair! Thanks Jennifer, Jeremy and all the volunteers for providing me...and thousands of others...with a great weekend!!
Mother Nature even cooperated! The weather could not have been more perfect!
