Thursday Thoughts on This first week of November, 2009

OK ! so there is still one more day in the Work Week....acknowledged...accepted

But, we're scheduled for Friday...no Blogging time left.


First, I must set the stage for all of you out in the blogosphere;

...our weather here has been iffy at best; just last week we had
.....Rain, rain, Wind, rain, SUN- 31 Oct. , rain, wind & sun.
....so far this week; sun [ lower case = 'little' of ], winds, rain, cold, prediction of SNOW, today SUN
VOTE on 3 NOV.2009
Michigan update

Votes--
....majority of Charter, school district millage, renewals,& bonds PASSED State wide
....city / townships officials elected; some incumbents
....Dave Bing is the Mayor for Detroit, plus basically a new City Council
....the Michigan Legislature has passed the bill to Tap into the Fed. Stimulus Funds meant for
2010 to restore Cuts made to School funding.--is anyone surprised;

....MACOMB COUNTY did pass the move to a Charter Government...wait for the 2nd Vote on a CEO
....Macomb County Road Commission vote passed to Instant move /reorganization under new Charter
....Macomb County has 500,000 + residents; not certain of actual count, BUT do know that is much
higher than the mere 80,000-100,000 who DID vote on November 3.2009
....Macomb Cultural and Economic Partnership non-profit group is sending 17 people to Beijing,
Shanghai, and surrounding areas from 27 Nov. -7 Dec. Most will be paying their own costs.

....keep watch on Sen. Chris Dodd's proposal that would strip almost all bank-supervision powers from
the Federal Reserve & FDIC; it would create a... "new agency in charge of supervising all banks and
bank-holding companies, even the country's largest and most complex institutions."...WSJ Nov.5 by
Damian Paletta " Clash Looms on Banks"
Interesting don't you think..Dodd is trying to get re-elected in 2010, and wasn't his name on the
various bills passed in Congress since 1994-95 to present that brought about many of the situations
with which all of us are dealing?

....Senate bill on altering Taxes for big Companies through extending the 'carry-back' period from 2 years
to 5 years as already applicable to small business owners.
....these changes are found in a bill that extended unemployment benefits 20 weeks from the current 79
....also extended is the First Time Home Buyer Tax Credit for 5 months--Dec.1 '09 to 30 April '10 ?
....Bill passed 04 Nov. 2009-- 98-0 , it moves onto the House & expected to be passed.

It appears that the "freezing" winds are coming to a Congress person...
..in a timely manner
...[ at least this way we States in the Northern mid-West, N.East & N.West can relax ]


But, before you Leave; here is something else.


An Open letter to paul, from peter

Dear paul,
Hope that this finds you in a better place than previously.
It has come to my attention that the governmental officials have secured your financial future
for the months to come. You, it seems, will be having a good, Happy New Year 1 Jan. 2010.
Good for you; I am happy for you;
However, are you also being made aware of the fact that your future is undeniably tied to mine.
As you look forward to the next months, do recall that:

Robbing peter only WORKS for paul
Robbing peter only LASTS as long as peter has the funds

What ever will the pauls of the nation do once peter is Fund-LESS
Is it not much more productive to insist that all said Officials promote Bills that would bring ACTUAL jobs
to their congressional sector; AND, should they not be made to monitor to whom peter's [pence] funds go;
Isn't it oxymoronic to accept the tally that states ...'by giving raises to present employees keeps them
in the work force, thus creating longevity'
Shouldn't someone have seen that the first Tax Credit- for 1st Time Home Buyers- was being exploited by 19,000 credits awarded to persons NOT purchasing a home, or by granting one to a 4 year old child. Do they NOT demand more than one piece of identification?
Wouldn't a High School class of well-taught students not have been able to predict, with great accuracy, that programs involving peter's dollars is not high on the LIST to monitor?
So, paul, hope that all is well for you. Hope that your ducks are being placed 'in a row' by you.
Hope that you can 'read between the lines' since so many 'groups' seem unable to do so.

So, paul,hope to see you on the up side
Hope that I, peter, still have some funds to cover your needs;
Hey, paul, how about a LOAN /
