All they (MOMS) ask for is a little APPRECIATION!!

All they (MOMS) ask for is a little APPRECIATION!!

Being a dad in this world can be a daunting task. I have 3 energetic daughters and 4 precocious grandchildren. Adding in my significant other and her daughter I’m now up to 4 girls. The Pastor (Artie Lindsay) brought a fantastic message for the Mother’s Day Tribute. Moms go through so much trying their level best to keep the ship on the right course. I remember my own mom (11 kids,3 sets of twins) back in the day keeping us in line. It’s like running an office with 11 different personalities. Someone needs to keep order and who better than a mom.

Growing up I watched her go through so much to make a good (no great) life for all of us. Back then (as I can only speak for myself) I may not have been the most appreciative son in the group but I knew my mom looked out for me. She made sure we never went hungry, always had a roof over our heads and just flat out protected us. I didn’t get a car in high school or the latest fashions but I received WISDOM from her. I may not have liked everything she said but it was for my own good. I have learned over the years appreciation for the things that she has done for me. Sometimes we take our moms for granted.

Now as we get older we see the BIG picture. We see the thing that they went through because we’re going through them no ourselves. We have kids with their own thoughts and ideas. We see a lot of ourselves in them when they don’t appreciate what we do for them. It’s a learning curve. This is the world we live in. We need to teach them as we were taught in the past. Thank God for moms like yours and mine who took the time for us. Extend a hand and show them the APPRECIATION they so richly deserve. Where would we be without them.
