Yes it is true; today while it was a balmy, and sunny 48*, I had the pleasure of driving Schoenherr Rd in Macomb County with the Spring Drivers giving a whole new definition of " Blowing in the Wind".
That song I liked, in my anti-establishment days.
Today it simply looked Cold.
I suspect that two folks are sniffling and coughing tonight, BUT, they made their point; It IS Spring.
If the top-down convertible is not enough to impress you that spring is actually here in Michigan;
how about some of the ads that we are reading and seeing:
...."Party Tents" for rent;
...1/2 off party store for all your graduation needs;
...Prom dresses in this store--one design per school is promised [girls must sign as to their school ];
..."The Boat Show" where- you can choose your own personal water craft [& all accessories];
...not to mention that our school district is presently ending their week long "Spring Break";
Ah Spring...
The door-to door window, siding, landscaping, & lawn services have begun their seasonal walks;
The sprinkler service that we use called about an April turn-on--which would be next week, we still had snow in the shaded areas; opted for a May turn-on.
The tulips and other Spring bulb flowers are poking their 'greenery' above the ground, competing with the bunnies and / or late snow-storms for their very lives
Ah Spring...can
The squirrels are doing their hilarious mating-races around, up, down, under & over the available bushes, shrubs, 9r fences. Ours also run up the spiral-cut evergreens t the roof where they have ample space to race. You know, with all that running around, how do they ever actually make the 'little ones' ??
In the stores today, besides being crowded due to Spring break, the lighter weight clothing items, summer-type shoes, Easter candies And even plastic picnic items grace the shelves.
Ah Spring..can summer
We are having rain tomorrow [opening day] with temps around 45-48 *;
Warm weather is predicted for the following week--50-60's & up to 67*;
Our neighborhood "sniffers' & "sniffees" are parading the sidewalks or for the braver among them, the streets.
Young Love is in the air;
The girls [sniffees] are bravely wearing long shorts , t-tops, & giggles all around;
The boys [sniffers] are wearing the long boy shorts, no jackets, t-tops though some are still sprouting those goofy knit hats.
Ah Spring...can summer be far behind.
The sun, when seen is low & bright in the sky, but oh so welcome to see & feel.
The sun also highlights all the rain, snow marks on the outside of the windows, while dramatically back-lighting any and all humidity, dust, or just plain smears on the inside.
Ah Spring...can summer be far behind.
And to make the warmer weather seem complete, there is a house fly darting across the computer screen and occasionally my forehead.
Ah it is Spring;
Summer is not far behind.
