Beaverton Community Day Saturday
Drive with extra caution when traversing the streets of Beaverton on Saturday, May 14. That’s the date of the annual Community Day celebration in the city bringing out numerous community volunteers for a day of sprucing up the community and planting the flowers that line M-18 and Brown Street.
The day will kick off with the Beaverton Lions Club hosting a donation community breakfast from 7-10 a.m. at the Beaverton Community Center. Following breakfast, volunteers will make their way to their respective community projects including planting flowers around the City.
Groups and individuals have adopted flower pots and planting areas and they will care for them throughout the summer months.
The day doesn’t end there, however, as the Beaverton Lions also host their annual Spring Fling fundraising benefit dinner later that evening. Tickets for the event generally sell out early and are currently available from any Lions Club member.
