
Memorial Day Parades in Gladwin and Beaverton

Memorial Day observances will be held Monday, May 30 in Gladwin and Beaverton. The Gladwin commemoration begins with parade lineup on State St. south of M-61 at 10:30 a.m. The parade steps off at 11 a.m. and proceeds along Cedar Ave. west to the memorial at the Courthouse. There, a memorial service will be conducted by local clergy and VFW and American Legion Posts.
Lineup at Beaverton will be at 1 p.m. in the municipal parking lot near the Beaverton Community Center. It will step off at 1:30 p.m. on Brown Street just west of the clock and will proceed to M-18, then north over the bridge to Ross Lake Park. A traditional service will be offered by local clergy and VFW Post 7303. Both the Beaverton and Gladwin Marching Bands will share their talents on this solemn occasion, each in its own city.
