Washtenaw County Foreclosure Report for January 2012

In review of the chart below, looking at the month of January 2010 (the highest number of recorded foreclosures for the months of January over the past 10 years), there were 113 recorded foreclosures. If we compare that to the month of January 2012, there has been a 24.2% drop in number of recorded foreclosures. Now, comparing last year to this year for the month of January, there was a 3.3% increase in the number of foreclosures. Overall, this is a minor change in the number of recorded Washtenaw County foreclosures.

Only a Minor Change in Monthly Sheriff’s Deeds Rate In January

According to Lawrence Kestenbaum, Washtenaw County’s Clerk and Register of Deeds, 91 Sheriff’s Deeds were recorded by Washtenaw County’s Register of Deeds office this January.

“This January we recorded 91 Sheriff’s Deeds, compared to 88 in January, 2011 and 113 in January, 2010. In 2011 our average monthly recording rate was 94 Sheriff’s Deeds per month. ”
