Livingston County MI Reachout for Property Tax Policies & Procedures

Everyone knows that the value of your home has dropped--but will your property taxes reflect this? Want to know how to prepare to present your case to the assessor's office? Livingston County MI Asssessors are offering a FREE seminar, in conjuction with the County Equalization Department, to better inform the homeowner/taxpayer of the current issues associated with property valuation. In addition, the seminars will review the following imporatnt and timely issues:

*Assist property owners in the understanding of the assessment process

*Explain legal requirements of the assessment process

*Discuss how the assessment of properties are developed

*Review sales selections and how sales are used in the process

*Preparing an effective appeal before the annual board of review sessions

The following dates for the above informational sessions are:

1/27/09 - 6pm - Brighton High School

1/29/09- 6pm - Fowlerville Jr High School/Auditorium

2/3/09 - 6pm - Pinckney Navigator School/Media Center
