Tawas City MI, seeks grant for covered bridge.
A new covered bridge may find its way over the Tawas River if the city is awarded a grant. The new bridge would replace the current wooden bridge
over Mathews St, and be funded through a state grant.
The grant, from the Michigan Strategic Fund in the form of a Community Development Block Grant and Downtown Infrastructure Grant would pay for the estimated $350,000 replacement cost for the bridge.
The city would provide matching funds for the grant at 15% or $45,000 - depending on how much the bridge would cost.
