End of Summer Minnesota Fun...

Are you getting bored of having your kids at home?
Looking for something fun to do between now and school starting in September?
Been spinning your wheels doing the same thing day after day and looking for a little something new to do?
Have I got some ideas for you!

1. The Kelly Farm located just outside Elk River is a living history center. You can find farmers and animals and gardening fun on any given day! This time of year they offer lots of programs for the kiddos to learn all about what farming is ALL about!

2. There are lots and lots of parks and trails in Elk River and the surrounding areas! What a great place to bring a picnic, take a bike ride, walk a trail or two...

3. If you have exhausted Elk River and you are looking for something more WILD - there are always the Como Zoo or Minnesota Zoo. Both are very fascinating places for the whole family to explore and if money's tight the Como Zoo has a free entrance (donation).

4. At the end of August we always have the hype of the Minnesota State Fair! There are lots of ways to get there and lots of fun and activity going on! For two weeks leading up to Labor Day you can have all the animals, rides, concerts and fair food that you could ever want!

5. The first two weekends of August you can jump at the chance to visit the Game Fair in Ramsey, MN!This is a great place to enjoy the outdoors while learning about the gaming fun of the outdoors. Lots going on at this event and surely a great way to beat the summer blues.

6. With the heat of summer beating down upon us - why not a swimming event?
There are lots of beaches in and around town to enjoy from Orono Lake to Twin Lakes to Big Lake!
Hit up a different one each day you want to swim and never be bored with your location.

7. The golfing type? We have mini golf right across the river in Otsego... They have batting cages and mini-golf and more!
There are lots of big golf courses too! Visit these with the kiddos and find our next Tiger Woods!

8. Visit the local library and check out a great book!

It's too easy to get caught up the in the "have to" of life...
