This female Peregrine Falcon was just sitting under our window at our Coon Rapids, Minnesota office. I guess she heard that our real estate broker is an ECOBroker and decided that we should help her find a new home!
Sorry for the photo quality, but wouldn't you know it, all I had with me was my cell phone!
I've lived in the Coon Rapids/Blaine area for 10 years now and we have just started seeing Peregrines within the last year or so. Last fall a male stopped by my house for a couple of days and snacked on 2 morning doves. I also noticed a bald eagle circling over my neighborhood and scavenging along US Highway 65 in Blaine about 2 months ago. It's nice to see wildlife coming back to the area; even though Blaine's wetlands have been exempted from federal regulation and are now being developed, it's good to know that we can coexist with wildlife. It's also a sign that our neighborhood eco-system is pretty healthy! I pulled up to our office the other day and look what I saw!
