Twin Cities Buyers: Deadline Extended by Senate... by Twin Cities Homes for Sale

Sigh of relief should be heard now throughout the country. Thousands of home purchase files in the US have been held up in escrow waiting for final underwriting approval, or tied up in a short sale process. Many bought homes in hope of qualifying for the $8,000 or$6,500 tax credit under the Federal Tax Credit Law.

Yesterday afternoon, US Senate cast a vote (60-37) that amended the deadline from June 30 to September 30, 2010. Extension will allow lenders more time to clear backlog of 180,000 home purchase contracts nationwide.
