St. Michael - Albertville - Hanover News You Can Use for October 29

On November 8th, if you live within ISD 885 (St. Michael - Albertville), you will be asked to vote on an Operating Levy Referendum

According to the School District's information, the district is asking voters to revoke the existing levy of $500 per pupil unit and replace it with a new levy of $695 per pupil unit. The new levy would be approved for 10 years.

This would provide the district with an approximate additional $1.2 million.

The project use for the levy dollars are broken down into three segments: $500,000 to maintain class sizes and student learning materials and programs, $300,000 to maintain and update computers and computer networks, and $400,000 to maintain current transportation levels and activity programs.

The estimated cost for a $200,000 home is an increase of about $88 per year or $7.33 per month.

The district has reduced expenditures by $1.44 million over the last four years.
