Columbia, Missouri: A Great Place to Raise a Family

I was visiting with friends today during a luncheon and met a new family who had just moved to Columbia. As we talked she explained to me how excited she was to be able to stay home with her new baby. After they were transferred, they were thrilled that the cost of living was so favorable, that with some lifestyle changes, she was able to fulfill her dream of being a stay at home mom.

Columbia consistently ranks below the national average for cost of living and is a wonderful place to live for many different reasons. We offer the regions top medical facilities, excellent school system, and opportunity for higher education, and multiple entertainment and recreation opportunities. Columbia residents are passionate about our community!

From the book 50 Fabulous Places to Raise Your Family "Columbia is a fast-growing city, valued for its highly educated work force, low cost of living, favorable government attitude toward business, award-winning schools and nationally recognized quality of life."

Columbia is centrally located between St. Louis and Kansas City. Our State Capitol, Jefferson City and the vacation getaway, Lake of the Ozarks is to the south.

I'm glad that she discovered what I have known for years!
