Text Messaging Widget for your Websites

Earlier this week, I came across a post by Jeff Turner, A Free Text Messaging Widget For Your Active Rain Sidebar (From Matt Rains). Since text messaging is my new addiction, I immediately jumped on board, heading over to Matt Rains site for my widget.

 

 

Jeff mentions a few reasons why he likes this widget, including:

"I know that the providing a variety of contact options will greatly increase the chance that someone will actually contact you. Communicate the way people like to be communicated with. It's that simple. Some people will pick up the phone, some will email and some will want to text message. Now you can give them that option."

Well, Jeff was right on the money with this one - I had added the widget to two of my websites: FindYourFreedomMissouri and UCMissouri.com. Within my United Country site, I added the widget to two of my listings. All this was done within just a few minutes earlier this week.

Yesterday morning, while I was at my listing appointment, a text message came in. The message was from a gentleman coming into town from Nebraska - he was sending the message asking for a Saturday morning appointment!

To say I am excited to offer this new tool to my Buyes and my Sellers - a new means of communication - is an understatement!

There is only one slight problem. I did not know which listing Mr. Nebraska was referring to since I had added the widget to more than one! He said he wanted to "set an appointment to see this home." Oops, which home is that? I had it narrowed down to two, but still... I like to be informed before calling someone back.

This is one quirk I think I can over come. So, Thanks Matt and Jeff for a great new tool - I can assure you, it works!
