B5 - Dodge-Ram - Missouri economy

old pick-upBio-diesel plans to utilize organic, renewable resources for vehicle fuel, clean up air pollution and stimulate the economy in various fields including agriculture and timber work. Already, Daimler-Crysler will be using the B5 fuel in Dodge Ram Diesel vehicles built in the DaimlerChrysler's St. Louis North Assembly Plant at Fenton, Missouri, near St. Louis.. Already, the Dodge Ram has been approved to burn the B5 diesel fuel.

Additionally, the mpg for vehicles using the bio-diesel products should increase significantly. New engines will be and are being developed to burn the bio-fuel. The old style diesel fuel will ruin the new engines.

According to reports from CarTalk, vehicles with the new diesel burning engines will be more expensive than gasoline powered cars. Diesel is also more expensive at the pump than gasoline, presently.

Not all agents will be bopping about the city showing property with B5 fueled vehicles for awhile. CarTalk figures that the number of diesels on the road is expected to double by 2012. That sounds impressive, but keep in mind that only 1% of the passenger cars on the roads today are diesel-powered.

Remember the olden days when Diesel was much less expensive than gasoline?
