Aloha, Wake Island-ers

I received a letter from Eugene Delenia today apologizing for conspicuous silence on his part after the reunion. (Branson, MO 2007) I won't go into detail other than to say "My heart goes out to you, Eugene, sounds like a trying year"

The Wake Island Spirit will be back in circulation by July-August and Eugene is extending every-one's membership one year.

The reason I am blogging this is b/c Eugene has worked long and hard at keeping a Wake Island spirit alive. I left the Island as a child back in the late '60's (1969) but the 9 years I was there as a kid had a great impact on me. Some of you might remember me as Tom & Faith Arbster's "favorite" middle daughter CHERYL (actually I am the ONLY middle daughter- I just threw in the 'favorite part' b/c I like too).

Any Rainers out there from the atoll give me a shout- there has got to be a couple of you who know how to read- Mahalo from an Islander at home on the mainland in the lovely state called Missouri!!
