There appears to be no specific relief plan for Bush and the mortgage industry's agreed on a plan to freeze interest rates for up to five years on some of the two million homeowners who have, in the past few years, purchased homes with subprime loans. Treasury Secretary, Henry M. Paulson Jr., pushed participants to create a streamlined plan indicating when loan terms would be modified. The investment fund industry stressed any freezes on their part would be voluntary and motivated by their self-interests.
