Now that Winter has melted away the Moncton housing market should be warming up. But that is not the case so far in 2009.
Both new and existing residential unit sales reported on the Greater Moncton Real Estate Board MLS® are down. If fact residential unit sales are at the lowest year-to-date level in the last 5 years.
Also single detached and multiple new housings starts reported by the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation for the Moncton Census Metropolitan Area indicate lower numbers in both categories.

Larry - while our market is picking up the numbers are not as good as the last few years. We have seen a few multiple offer situations but generally a more stable market exists.
Thanks for your comment Kathy. Sometimes Iread the TREB Market Watch. I read the North District sales to listings ratio is trending in the right direction, upwards.
Larry -slowly but surely ... there is also good news coming from other areas across Canada ... stability in the market is what I am looking for ... there is always someone who gets hurt by rapidly rising or falling markets ... slow but steady increases are much healthier for all.
