2008 First Quarter Housing Starts in New Brunswick

• Housing starts are up by 94 units in 2008, led by mainly by Saint John with an increase of 81 units.

• Saint John, with 72 single family detached home starts, leads Fredericton (55) and Moncton (34).

• Saint John also leads in multiple starts with 93 compared to Moncton with 43 and Miramichi with 17.

• Total housing starts in all urban centers of New Brunswick indicate a positive 2008 construction season.
