April 2008 Housing Starts in New Brunswick

• Housing starts were down in April with the exception of Fredericton where there was a modest gain.
  
  Year to date, the Saint John CMA leads the urban centers with 107 single family detached and 118 multiple starts recorded.

• 
  The Moncton CMA is the only area recording lower year to date starts than 2007 with 59 singles and 83 multiples.
  
  Fredericton has recorded 70 single and 6 multiple starts year to date, placing it in #2 position in single detached starts.
