Trinity in Apex, NC - A new Development

Developer Kent Cummings has unveiled plans for what would be the largest single project ever built in Apex: a 1,071-acre, high-density community called Trinity.

Trinity would follow the model of Raleigh's North Hills with a dense mix of residential and commercial buildings that one day would carry a value of more than $1 billion.

Cummings is treating the assemblage of land like an urban infill project that would link the residential growth areas around Apex, Holly Springs and Cary. Most of the property is bounded by U.S. 1 to the west, N.C. 55 to the east and the future Interstate 540/Western Wake Parkway toll road to the south.

Rezoning plans for Trinity, show parcels of mostly wooded areas on the south side of Apex that could accommodate up to 4,000 new homes, 2.2 million square feet of new retail and restaurants, and mixed-used buildings with more than a half-million square feet for office tenants.

Update: The projects in this area just keep on coming. HH Trinity(Tom Hendrickson)has closed on a large assemblage on Hwy 55 in Apex.

Here are some of the new businesses that are planned:

  • Handee Hugo's and Bojangles are under construction.
  • Apex fire station to be next to these.
  • Kent Cummings is filing site plans for development of another retail assemblage across Hwy 55 from the HH Trinity tract

This is the largest development ever in Apex!! The construction has started w/Townhomes and the retail development will follow.

Joe - that's a great question.  There are new schools planned for Western Wake.  I'm hoping that the new development will coincide with the construction of the schools.  I know that is wishful thinking but it's the best response I have at this time.

Hi Tracy,

Do you know when the single family homes in Trinity are going to come up. Is there a website for Trinity setup yet? Who can we meet from the Development if we have questions?

Thanks.

I'd need to speak to the Town of Apex on Monday.  With the changes in the real estate market and I-540 scheduled for a 2010 opening the project may be moving out to coincide with the 540 plans.  Send me a contact message and I'll get the details back to you.
