In a couple of previous blogs I wrote about two new up and coming developments in downtown Apex. They are:
residential units, along with up to 80,000 square feet of office space and 140,000 square feet of retailThese developments are being very well received by the community. That said, the developers are at it again with a new project called the Villages of Apex. As reported by the News & Observer on August 2nd plans for the Villages of Apex, include 1,300 condos, townhouses and homes, a private elementary school, a 13-acre park, 35 miles of walkways, 220,000 square feet retail shops and 80,000 square feet of office space. As indicated by Mayor Keith Weatherly this is the last project possible since there are no more remaining tracts of land this size. Apex First Development LLC plans to invest at least $327 million in the project. And, the Town has indicated that construction could start as early as next MONTH!! This development will be located close to the new Town Hall.
The recent press by Money Magazine and the explosion in growth is remarkable. As of June 30th there are 33,217 residents in Apex, a whopping 64% increase in residents since 2000. Total residents after these large development projects is projected to be 41,636.

Tracy,
Nice commentary on Apex and the residential development there. We have only lived in NC for a few years and Apex has grown a lot in a short period of time!
