Here’s a Good Question: In terms of Land Use, who do you favor as a decision maker? 
The developers? The local city-county elected officials the land use decision-makers? The current owner-steward of the land? Possible Answer: When it comes to what we all can do in terms of land use –including community planning right in our own/combined backyards— your favorite land use decision-maker could be YOU.

Keeping the idea of personal involvement in mind, we began a conversation with permaculture experts here in Asheville. Permaculture looks at development of perennial agricultural systems that mimic the structure and interrelationship found in natural ecology. Our conversations have expanded our land use perceptions. You may be as intrigued as we are with the permaculture perspective on land use, edible landscaping and “green space.” So below look for details and resources.
