Crow Creek Golf Plantation in Calabash, NC is a scenic golf community located between
two major highways, highway 17 which is a four lane highway that runs from above Wilmington almost to Charleston. Hickman road is heavily traveled by locals and trucks who want to avoid all the stoplights on 17. It connects from Calabash to highway 9 in Little River, SC. The 500 acres track was originally the McLambs' family farm. Jerry McLamb watched the deterioration of farming and he began looking for another opportunity. He met Robbins who had been an associate of Jack Nicklaus and thus began Crow Creek. It is unique and special. Neither man wanted a golf course like the big commercial ones in the Myrtle Beach area. Crow Creek is divided into three communities, patio cottages, single family residences, and condos. Current market has lots starting in upper 60s, condos starting in mid 150s, and houses priced in upper $300,000. The action is on the left of Hickman Road where the condos, patio homes, clubhouse, pool, and homeowners' amenity center are located. The single family residences are across the street (Hickman Road), and that section is gated. Caw Caw swamp circles around most of the gated area and canals have been cut through the property to make a really beautful scenic environment. The property backs up to another popular community, Brunswick Plantation.
