Communities across the US are judged on the five Es 
which are: Engineering, Education, Encouragement, Enforcement, and Evaluation & Planning. A community must demonstrate achievements in each of the five categories in order to be considered for an award.
The Town of Cary, with their comprehensive transportation plan, has done an excellent job of planning the Cary Greenways, Trails, and Bike Lanes throughout the town for recreation and enjoyment. Weather enjoyng a short bike ride around the neighborhood, a rough ride through the park on a mountainbike, or a long ride out to Jordan Lake there is something for all cyclists in Cary.
