Peaches! Yes, Peaches! Fresh from the North Carolina Sandhills.
Kickin' it up a notch in Apex, DJ's Berry Patch has 'em!
I popped in today for another bucket of fresh ripe red strawberries, and there I saw the peaches on display. What a nice surprise!
You may ask, "So, did you buy any peaches?"
And I might answer, "Mais, oui." Well, actually, it would probably sound more like, "HUH? OF COURSE I DID!"
Maybe I get excited by little things......
See, once I get over the initial rush of fresh sweet Strawberries, North Carolina Sandhills Peaches take top spot on my fresh fruit frenzy dance card.
These are cling peaches, not one of the freestone peach varieties. So the pits are a little more intrusive in the gobbling experience. Regardless, many of us think that they are sweeter and, well,. "peachier," than the freestone varieties.
