We were driving home from Christmas vacation in Orlando, FL, and I wasn't looking forward to coming home to cold weather. Sure, I do love the season changes. They are all beautiful in their own way. They can make you appreciate the other seasons as each have their pros and cons. If I were to rank the seasons with my favorite being first, it would be summer, spring, fall and winter. I realize some people would be the opposite. My children tell me they could never live somewhere as hot as Florida. As I was thinking about this, it gave me the idea of writing a series of blogs highlighting great ways to "survive the winter in Raleigh, NC".
Oh, there could have been many titles: "How to Survive Winter in Raleigh, NC" or "Ways to Survive the Winter Blues". But, I tend to look at things on the brighter side. So, I've challenged myself to appreciate each day and each week of winter and find ways to help others enjoy the winter.
Some of the blogs may be practical, low budget, high budget, or obvious. However, I wanted to have something for everyone, something outside the box, and something that's overlooked. If you're like me and want to rush through winter and get to spring, I challenge you to also find ways to appreciate the winter season. If you love the winder season, please share some of your favorite things you enjoy during winter. It might just become one of the next blog post!
