What is a carbon footprint? Well it is essentially what we leave behind as we go about our daily lives. Everything that we do contributes to our carbon footprint. The homes we live in to start and the way we use them from furnishings to functioning. How we commute to work, school, church, soccer games or travel. What we eat and how we eat it. All of these things impact the amount of greenhouse gas emissions that change our environment. By definition, a carbon footprint is a "measure of the impact human activities have on the environment in terms of the amount of greenhouse gases produced, measured in units of carbon dioxide". You can calculate your carbon footprint by going to www.nature.org/initiatives/climatechange/calculator/ . This will give you insite as to what kind on impact your carbon footprint is having on the earth. Though I consider myself to be pretty light on my feet (as far as a carbon footprint goes) I have discovered that I have a lot of room for improvement.
