Stephane Curry hurt his ankle

Davidson's brightest hope may have been dashed today as Stephane Curry fell down on the court after hurting his ankle. It happened as Davidson played Furman, a university to the east of Charlotte, just across the border in South Carolina.

This is a big blow for the team which has been highly ranked in the NCAA tournament in recent years. Davidson is located near Charlotte NC and is a small liberal arts university. The basketball team doesn't play in a big huge conference like the ACC or anything, but Davidson has made a name for itself by playing well and advancing deep into the tournament in March. Stephane Curry has been a big part of that success in the last couple of years. He is the son of Dell Curry, a former player for the Charlotte Hornets and a great three point shooter.

Davidson is a small community just outside of Charlotte located on part of Lake Norman. It is a short drive on from Charlotte proper because it is located on I77, a major highway running very close to downtown Charlotte.

Curry had 25 points before he hurt himself according to the Charlotte Observer. So far, nobody knows if he is coming back.
