A Strong Feeling of Charlotte Lifestyle | South End Charlotte

Charlotte Lifestyle

No matter where you live in the Charlotte area, you’re bound to be near a good old fashioned Farmer’s Market. Shopping at one of these places gives you a small, community feeling…even if you’re from far away, you can always feel at home with a great Charlotte lifestyle.

This time of year is perfect for picking up nearly every type of fresh fruit and vegetable imaginable at Charlotte’s Tailgate Farmer’s Market. We’ve had a generous balance of rain and sunshine, so many of the area farms are seeing abundant and healthy crops, all ripe for your picking! A couple of blogs to come soon will be about the generous growing season in Charlotte, NC and the PERFECT southern tomato sandwich (which seriously is a debate in Charlotte.)

One of the newest to open up is in the Atherton Market located in the Atherton Mill, in the Southend. It’s open Tuesdays and Saturdays, and boasts to have fresh meats, baked goods, artisan chocolates, honeys, fruits, vegetables, and much more. When you go to this market, you’re bound to want to walk around the whole of the Southend area. This is an awesome community and it’s not just because of the farmer’s market. Check out the funky new spots to live in the warehouses that have been revamped into cool loft flats.

This whole section of town is conveniently located right on the Lynx train line and gives easy access to Uptown. Also, the trolley line connects through here and can take you throughout the Southend Charlotte area for a convenient Charlotte lifestyle. Hip Hoods wrote a great post about the continued Development Around Light Rail. Here is a little history about the South End Charlotte from CLTBLOG.

The Southend area itself has some great places to hang out. There’s the Gin Mill corner pub where pretty much every night something is going on; a couple of favorites are Tuesday night when trivia brings out a regular crowd who want to challenge their brains and Wednesdays when they have a DJ and Wii Bowling. Next door is Amos’ where national touring bands come through the area to play. The place holds about 1,200 people and gets more than just rock shows, they bring in jazz performers, hold charity events, and underage shows.

Now, to find a place to live in the Southend in Charlotte is easy to do, too. Many of these places available now are priced to sell fast and some are move in ready!
