The Triangle MLS Report for Durham County for August 2011 has been released, and shows a significant increase in closings in 2011 versus 2010.

August 2010 - 212 Closed Sales in Durham County

August 2011 - 272 Closed Sales in Durham County

28.3% Increase in Closed Sales in Durham County

Not only that, but new listings are down significantly, which means there are fewer choices to select from.

August 2010 - 458 New Listings in Durham County

August 2011 - 358 New Listings in Durham County

15.9% DECREASE in New Listings Available in Durham County

 Average Percent of Original List Price Received in August was 95.7%, versus 95.8% in August 2010.

The total inventory of homes for sale is also down significantly - the inventory of available homes in Durham County was 21.2% lower in August 2011 than in August 2010.
