About 7 years ago before my Grandmother passed away, I went to visit her in FL. It was the first time we really had a chance to sit and talk since I became an adult. She asked me where I was currently living, and I responded Fayetteville, NC. She paused and said, what a small world. I was a little bewildered by her response.
She then informed me that, her father (My Great Grandfather) was originally from one of the native Indian tribes of Fayetteville. Of course my curiosity was instantly peek and I wanted to learn more. I researched and researched to gather more information. It wasn't until this year when I came across some very old photos, in need of serious restoration.
My Kodak moment came when I had the photos restored and had a great image of my Great Gandfather that was taken around 1920. It's amazing how a photo gives you such a prospective and delivers such a connection to the past. I'm glad someone decided follow the original Kodak slogan of "You Press the Button, We Do the Rest".
