There is a lot to see and do in while visiting Franklin, NC and the surrounding areas of Western NC.  One of my favorite things to do is to ride the Blue Ridge Parkway on our motor cycles.   I happen to ride the Great Smoky Mountain Railroad about a month ago for the first time for a memorial.  I bet it is real pretty in the Fall during Leaf Season.  The Biltmore Estate is a piece of history that is a very well known major attraction.  Harrah's Casino not only is gambling but has big band concerts and really good restaurants. White water rafting is huge here in the Mountains of NC and I like to watch them go down the Nantahala River while screaming, laughing all the way.
